I congratulate Isaac Beacroft on winning the gold medal in the men's 10,000 metres walk at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. 

Under the coaching of his dad, David, who introduced his son to Quakers Hill Little Athletics at the age of four, Isaac has emerged as one of the great sporting stars of Blacktown city.

At just 16, he set the world record for the fastest 5,000 metres walk by an under-17 race walker. In 2024 Isaac won both a solo gold and team bronze in the 10,000 metres walk at the world team championships.

In 2025 he shared silver with his team for the 20 kilometres walk at the World University Games. On top of his Commonwealth Games gold, he also took out a solo silver and team bronze in the world team championships earlier this year in Brazil.

At only 19, Isaac is already a giant of his sport and has a long career still ahead of him. I again congratulate Isaac and wish him all the best.
