Daw Phyu Han is a local Woodcroft resident and a director of the Burmese Community Development Collaboration [BCDC].
The BCDC was founded in 2011 to foster and leverage skills, knowledge and resources for the wellbeing of Burmese in Australia and Myanmar.
Phyu Han and the BCDC recently sponsored the Australian South East Asian Network's third annual conference for community leaders and the gathering of ambassador teams.
Phyu Han was a part of a panel session at this event, which discussed the challenges, successes and opportunities for South-East Asian communities in Australia.
Phyu Han is also a founder of the first Burmese language aged-care facility, Garden View Aged Care, which is operated by the BCDC as a social enterprise delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
I thank Phyu Han for the amazing contribution to Blacktown and our thriving South-East Asian community.
