On behalf of Minister Paul Scully I attended the opening of Wadanggari Park, undertaken by wonderful Mayor Andrew Zbik and the innovative General Manager Craig Wrightson. The 4,750 square metres of open space features a lawn bridging a railway line, a plaza, passive nooks and a regional scale adventure playground. The design features best practice in landscape urban design and safety, and is seamlessly connected to Mall 88. The JQZ quality development includes the new St Leonards Library, retail shops, public toilets and a 300-space public basement car park. The Pacific Highway pedestrian underpass has been upgraded to improve lighting and safety and an elevator has been installed for direct access to the park. Lane Cove library was opened by the mayor and John Vallance, the State librarian, and has amazing technology and meeting spaces. I was joined by the member for North Shore and my predecessor portfolio Minister, Anthony Roberts. I congratulate Lane Cove Council for its forward thinking and innovative planning.
