I pay tribute to the life of William "Bill" Archer, who passed away on 3 June, at the age of 72. Bill was an integral part of the community, generously volunteering his time. Bill was a coach, manager and committee member for junior rugby clubs, started Western Raptors Junior Rugby Union Club and was a long-term leader within the Blacktown City Junior Rugby League Club. Bill played a vital role at the Blacktown City Lions Club, including as vice-president and by helping out at barbecues, food drives and many other activities. Bill served for many years on Blacktown City Council's advisory committees. Bill Archer was a long-time Labor activist and joined the local Doonside branch in 2016, where he provided invaluable support and friendship. Our heartfelt condolences go to his wonderful wife, Judith, and all the family. I thank him for all his service to the community, his wonderful friendship and the mentoring he did for so many people.
