With great sadness, I advise the House of the passing of Marie Adele Jenson at the age of 93. Marie was born in Tamworth in 1930. Prior to her marrying Edward in 1955, she worked in a handbag factory. They had two children, Ross and Rosemary. Marie became a widow after 42 years of marriage. Marie was a quiet, unassuming type but was a persistent volunteer in the community. For many years, she helped clean Doonside Catholic Church and ironed the priests' robes. Marie was a member of the Doonside Senior Citizens Club and provided valuable service in fundraising, running market stalls, helping to serve meals and undertaking other activities creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Marie was awarded the 2008 Blacktown City Senior Citizen of the Year for her community service. Apart from her community work, since 2005 Marie was a member of the Labor Doonside branch. Over the past 18 years she loved attending meetings and helping on the election campaigns. Vale, Marie Jenson.
