The Blacktown CBD development plan has not been consulted properly and proposed intergenerational changes without any supporting evidence or plan to address critical issues. But submissions are still open.

I wish to provide feedback on Blacktown DCP proposals.
There is insufficient information to make a reasonable judgement on the proposal.
There is:
- No supporting traffic studies
- A missed opportunity to historically list Bowman Hall and the old church hall (now Leo Kelly Art Centre) and to incorporate them in a new CBD
- No night-time economy or daytime entertainment strategy to make a vibrant CBD
- No plan to address crime and antisocial behaviour in the CBD
- Less parking spots + more people = traffic chaos
- No updated developer contribution plan = billing me and my rates for public facilities to create a liveable CBD
We all want a vibrant, safe, and environmentally friendly CBD but this process should not be rushed through.
This is a generational change with very little public consultation to explain what the changes mean.
I ask for this DCP to be deferred for community workshops and feedback so we can build a city that future generations will be proud to call Blacktown home.
